Interiors and storage specialists Modul8 has just completed works on their first PPP Education contract.

Robertson Construction has awarded two such contracts to the Aberdeen based company for the supply of partitioning and suspended ceilings in two of the new Aberdeenshire schools being built as part of a £63 million Private Public Partnership (PPP) project. 

The first project involved the supply and fitting of all partitions and ceilings within Kintore Primary School, which was one the first to be completed by Robertson during the PPP programme in 2006.  The partitions and ceilings were used to provide definition of space in the various facilities within the school including library space, leisure facilities and nursery places and brought the total contract value for Modul8 to £125k.

The second project involves the provision of all ceilings in the new Portlethen Academy.  This £200k project is due for to be finished in mid-April.  One fairly unusual feature of the Portlethen Academy project is the provision of some black ceilings.  This was specified for use in the backstage area in the new theatre provided in the Academy.

Modul8 has also been awarded a £300k contract to provide partitions and suspended ceilings within the new catering and leisure facilities to be known as “The Hub” at Aberdeen University.  The project will involve complete refurbishment of the existing Central Refectory building and will go to site in April, for completion by September 2006.
